Endodontist:   Dr. Daniel Dietz

     An endodontist is a dentist who has undergone a post-graduate specialty training in treating diseases of the pulp or nerve of the tooth and limits his/her dental practice to root canal therapy.

     Root Canal Therapy is the act of mechanically removing the diseased pulp or nerve from the tooth and replacing the nerve with a rubber plug. This is done under local anesthesia so it shouldn't feel any different than having a filling. With this procedure it enables you to preserve your tooth. The alternative is usually extraction with crown & bridge or implants to replace the missing tooth.

     With the nerve removed from the tooth there is no nourishment and the tooth becomes brittle and gray and will require a crown to cover and protect the remaining tooth structure. Once your endodontic treatment is completed you will be referred back to your general dentist for the crown to be made.

Oral Surgeon:   Dr. Ernesto Valiente 

     An Oral Surgeon is a dentist who has undergone a post-graduate training in maxillofacial surgery. Most limit their dental practice to surgery in and around the mouth.

     We can perform simple to complex extractions as well as biopsy and removal of tumors in the head and neck region. Jaw realignment surgery as well as implants are also done.

     Various types of anesthesia are utilized from local anesthesia which numbs the area being worked on to conscious sedation which is a depressed level of consciousness allowing the patient to maintain an independent airway and respond to verbal commands.

Orthodontist:   Dr. Claudia F. Moricz and Dr. Karen Varone

     An Orthodontist is a dentist who has completed a post-graduate training in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dental and facial irregularities. 

     Orthodontists straighten your teeth and correct a bad bite through the use of braces, wire and elastic bands as well as other appliances. If there is not enough room in your mouth some teeth may need to be extracted and the Orthodontist will coordinate this with your referring general dentist. We treat children as well as adults , so you are never too old for braces.

Periodontist:   Dr. Paul W. Bivens

     A Periodontist is a dentist who has completed post-graduate specialty training in the diagnosing and treatment  of diseases of the supporting structures of the teeth. We diagnose and treat various gum diseases and perform deep cleaning to gum surgery and grafts to restore the health of your tissues and enable you to keep your teeth.
